I actually have a multisystem vcr, and I brought some videos to entertain myself, now I just need a TV! Does anyone know if televisions can be rented out in Madrid? I just don�t want to invest unneccesarily in one since it is only for the time being, and I don�t plan to take it with me if I move back to the US. But trying to find a cheap one here is like . Or, if they don�t rent them out, can someone please recommend where I can browse used sets?

Hey Brenda, follow the linbks Joy has placed for ya, they will take you to threads on this type of stuff.

To get a used TV from someone who may be leaving the country and selling it, look in InMadrid, the Broadsheet, Segundamano, etc... (get your hands on the printed versions as the web versions have fewer listings). You can also go to "Cash Converters" (SPAIN WEBSITE HERE) to see what they have to offer in used TVs. I think that all of these options will be more economical than renting one for a few months (not sure how long you plan to stay???, was it till June???)

The Cash Converters Spain website is chock-full-o-errors and last I checked (just now), the links were not working, hence you can't see the store location page

I would call them in order of proximity to you to see if they are still in business, ya never know.

For renting, I checked out www.alquiler.com but only got companies that seem to rent out audio-visual equipment, seemingly to professionals.

I did find a company at www.paginasamarillas.es while doing a search in Madrid for "Alquiler Televisor" called VITELCO.

Thanks for the advice. My search skills must be off because I wasn�t able to find previous discussions of this topic.
Oh Jer, it is not for certain how long I will stay. I plan on asking for an extension of my stay, and if the friendly Spanish authorities don�t grant it, I may move back home temporarily. MAYBE, as I�m just going with the flow of things.
