Question to throw out there--does anyone know where you can buy a real frisbee, not one of those flimsy little things that are usually sold in beach resorts which I have seen at Corte Ingles. I am thinking htere must be some sort of sports shop here; especially since in looking at other posts there is an ultimate frisbee team here....thanks!

hey bkeintz, you could try the sports superstore "decathlon" ( www.decathlon.es ) but they may just have the flimsy crapola ones too.

i think you would be better off getting one online.

i found THIS SHOP in uk and they ship to europe.

probably a million and one more shops on the www where you can get some great frisbees but that was the first to come up in my search.

saludos,
jer...

I saw a surf shop on "conde de aranda" that had a whamo frisbee. Can't give you an exact location, but if I walk by there I will pay more attention next time.

I hate quotations. Tell me what you know.

Ok since this looks like it might be one of those frisbee life or death situations I have researched the matter further.

If you look at the link I am including, the store definitely was either on "conde de aranda" or one street north or south of it. Definitely I can tell you that is was on a street that run east-west. and "conde de aranda" is a very short street so you should have no trouble finding it.

Success! It is indeed where you said it was, Starwarsfreak, just north of the Retiro exit on the other side of the street from Retiro. They have a bunch of frisbees, and i ended up with a 200g one since i have the 175g one at home...fascinating, i know. Thanks for your help!

yep, the one i got was 21 Euros. Fairly pricey, especially considering the exchange rate, but worth every centimo. There were a range of prices, I think from 16-21 euros.

i don't play ultimate frisbee here, just play with friends in any parque with sufficient open space (most of them).

Most spaniards don't know how to throw frisbees, incidentally.

lucasvangombos, i would assume it does exist here since in his opening post here on this thread, bkeintz wrote...

if you do a SEARCH on "ultimate frisbee" or simply and you will get a thread entitled "ULTIMATE FRISBEE" which invites people to play.

however, the member (lifesponge) who posted it was pretty lame about offering details on THAT THREAD Mad and has not been back to answer any of the questions i asked.

have a look at THAT THREAD since i looked up the ultimate frisbee group and posted the info myself Cool

Hey Brett - there is a team called Los Quijotes; not playing right now, but should be practicing in a week or so. If you want, I'll let you know where/when they are practicing.

Nice to know about the frisbees - I brought 2 175g's over just to be safe.

Also, if you want to throw the disc around, let me know.

Mike

Hey Guys...
I'm moving to madrid november 10 and I'm planning on practicing with Los Quijotes. Somebody from the team assured me that they play all year round. If anybody else is interested let me know.

Thanks!
