Not long ago, in a city not too far away (Valladolid), I had two rolls of APS film developed at Carrefour and boy was I surprised when the total cost for two rolls of single prints came to 25€. Granted APS is more expensive, but I would imagine that a big city like Madrid has a better deal than this. Can anyone enlighten me? I�m a bit of a snob over matte paper too, if anyone knows where that is available.

p.d. did I mention it is better to have a digital camerfilm I too was a matt freak, I just like the way it looks and can't stand glossy paper . I can't imagine you having trouble finding matt developing, all the photo shops offer it. So, check the prices at "fnac" (Calle Preciados in Plaza de Callao) as they claim to have the "lowest guarnteed prices". I even saw a service there where they will put your pics on CDROM as well as give them to ya in prints.
Alcampo is also bound to be cheaper and I am pretty sure they offer photo developing, the one I go to is just outside the Metro station of "P�o XII" (Metro line 9, the purple one) near the Plaza Castilla. Alcampo is a chain supermarket/dept. store and they have EVERYTHING (pretty cheap).
"Fotoprix" www.fotoprix.es also claims to be cheap, Check out their website if you can stand the annoying assed jingle on the entry page (Microsoft Internet Explorer only, Netscape users go directly to www.fotoprix.es/tiendas_frame.html ).

I vote for a matte finish, but it seems that the cheapest places furnish glossy finish! Are you fellows refering to a different type of film processing 'CPS' vs what I am familiar with C41? Does that mean the film you use there is acutally different???
By the way, Jer-- which do you prefer using digital cameras or film?

Over the next ten years, old fashioned 35mm film cameras may become about as prevalent as dinosaurs roaming the world. The advances in the technology is advancing so rapidly that each year previous models of cameras are selling for less than 40% of their original cost.
A friend of ours is converting their long time portrait studio from their old film type cameras to digital because they can save money, and hold the line on costs passed on to their customers as well.
Their only complaint? When a picture is blown up to "poster size," they become a bit grainy. But hey! How many people do you know that need that big a picture anyway? Just politicians, and since they're a little "grainy themselves," the pictures might just capture their image a little better -

Wow, today I bought a Compact Flash card for my digital camera with 128 Mb!! I can get almost 500 pics on that card!! Now what do I do with those 2 puny 32 Mb cards?
