as a general rule, i have found jewelry in madrid to be quite a bit more expensive than in u.s.a. and with the VERY weak dollar, i do not think that europe would be the place to beat that price but ya never know.
for us not so knowledgable about jewelry, i think you need to explain and/or show us what a "hidalgo ring" is.
