For information about being a non-resident, etc. I'd ask the Spanish Embassy or Consulate nearest you. They should have all the information regarding taxes etc. on purchasing a car, or even bringing one with you from the UK. We've discussed the diesel issue before.. yes, they run just as well, they are cheaper to fill (gasoline is EXPENSIVE!), but Jer says that the parts are more expensive to repair (but in a 2 year old car it shouldn't present any problems, at least not at first), and are recommended more if you're doing lots of traveling. Personally, when I get a car, I'll go diesel (I plan to do PLENTY of traveling!  )
