Hola everyone,
I'm new to mm and this is my first post. I have never been to Spain and yet have a burning desire to go. This board is the best source of information I have found. You who have put this together deserve much praise and much more publicity.
Anyway, my situation is this: I've been planning a 2-3 week trip for the end of June & early July. The two people originally slated to come with me have backed out due to concerns about leaving the U.S. Roll Eyes and yes I know that is crazy. I spent time in Mexico City last summer, which I found to be much safer than many large U.S. cities, generally speaking of course. SO, I'm saying the hell with those guys, I'm going anyway. Cool My plan is to start in Madrid for a few days, bus or drive up to Pamplona for Sanfermines for a few days, then back through Madrid down to Malaga for the beach and the festival there in mid-July and then maybe Marrakesh for a few days. I've read so much about these places, but I know the real deal is better than pages in a book so I'm heading in Smiler
Any advice you'd have would be much appreciated. I know that during the summer Madrid is supposedly "empty", is that an accurate description? I mean, who stays behind to make sure the city isn't looted like Baghdad? Also, if anyone else is planning a trip to the big fiesta in Pamplona, please let me know and maybe we can share a ride, etc...I know it's touristy, drunken, dangerous, etc, but I'm doing it and I just need the basics and the good info. Thanks to everyone for enticing me to join your board, you all seem like great assets to your city. Plus those graemlins are a lot easier to use than I thought they'd be.
 Hasta luego.
