I usually bring back perfumes as gifts for amigas in the EEUU, but it's pretty much Chanel 9, 15, etc. purchased at Corte Ingles. Nice stuff, but you can buy it anywhere.
Can anyone give me the name of a perfume that would be representative of Spain, and maybe a store with a good selection?

Jejejeje, you could alwasy give her DIAVOLO BY ANTONIO BANDERAS but that may be too macho for them :jeje: :jeje: :jeje:
Seriously, most (if not all) Spanish fashion designers have there own perfumes, all ya need to do is go into a PERFUMERA IN MADRID and have a look around. If you need help, ask an employee to show you the "marcas Espaolas de perfumes".
One of the more popular national brands is Loewe and one of the most typical of womens fragrances is Aire by Loewe which is one of the ones that I wear (not that that should influence you!)
You might also want to try fragrances by Adolfo Dominguez.
My favorite was Maderas de Oriente by Maja, but I think they stopped making it. Maja has been making spanish perfumes since the 1920's and they have some fine lines, plus they are not expensive.

Thanks for the leads....only problem I will have now is with the sampling. There's nothing like stumbling along C/Serrano with your eyes puffy red whilst gasping for breath after having been spritzered with multiple blasts of samples by well-meaning young sales ladies.
I hope our amigas truly appreciate the Hell guys go through in the location, selection & purchase of what our French friends refer to as Toilet Water.

you should never ever buy a new perfume for your girl, when she didn't select it by herself or had mentioned it before.
Maybe you don't know that every perfume has a different smell depending on the skin of the person who is using it. And smelling-preferences are very personal, so it's nearly impossible to decide what kind of perfume another person likes.
It's really easier if you go together to the shop and she can decide which one she wants.
