Hey Vix. Ok, ena just left to go shopping with her sister but left me the locations of the 3 H&M stores in Madrid * Women's H&M: Calle Preciados (Metro stop: Sol), just off the PUERTA DEL SOL. On your right hand side when walking up Preciados from Sol towards the Plaza de Callao. ** Men's H&M: Calle Goya (Metro stop: Goya), she said you have to walk a bit but it is near "Mango". *** Mixed H&M (Men, Women and Kids): Calle Orense (Metro stop: Nuevos Minesterios - the Nuevos Minesterios exit). The Nuevos Minesterios Metro station is currently closed for "obras" (construction work). Saludos, jer...(info provided by ena ) p.d. Hey laduque, when I read your post to ena she started going off on the clothing stores here as well and said you are right onthe money. Boy do you ladies have it tough

Hi Booklady I don't know much about H&M except that its a cheap clothes shop, with a large variety of relatively fashionable clothes. The main attraction in UK is that its so cheap, but it can be a bit like a jumble sale inside. Its always worth a look though. (and it has absolutely nothing to do with S&M! ha ha).

I may be out of luck as I get the impression that you guys are all younger, thinner and a damn sight trendier than me ...but its worth a try ! Where do I buy clothes for a thirtyish but not over the hill woman (ie me) ? Zara, H&M, Mango, Topshop are all a bit too young and not quite longlasting enough on the quality front. El Corte Ingles is still about twenty years in my future, Massimo Dutti is ok but everything is made of nylon !! I am heartbroken that there is no GAP in Madrid. I guess I am looking for classic/plain but not too mumsy clothes in a range of sizes over an English 12 (American 16?) made of natural fibres..........any ideas ?

Hola fiona. Finally someone who misses the GAP as much as I do A few years back when I was looking for a business venture here in Madrid (before the launch of multimadrid), I looked into franchising a GAP but found out that they do not franchise but instead are all owned and operated by the same company "Limited inc." who also own loads of other stores. As for a place fopr you to shop, I will try to get my girlfriend "ena" to advise you here since she and her sister are the authorities on the subject and while she is 27, her sister is in her mid 30s. Saludos, jer...
