Phil here. I was just wondering if anyone could help me out - I remember seeing a store specializing in ergonomic goods when I was walking around Madrid a long time ago - anyone know where this store is? I don't remember!
Also, if anyone has any other recomendations where I can get an ergonomic chair, keyboard, and other stuff, let me know.
Also, I've been to a few doctors about my hand, wrist, and arm pain but with little luck. I am sick of people telling me it is stress and go home to relax when American sites talk about RSI (repetitive stress injury) and that their are specific ways to treat it. If any of you know of a specialist in this I could see please let me know.
Well, that is DEFINITELY enough typing for my hands. Time for stretching.
Regarding the RSI. I developed something similar, perhaps related to carpal-tunnel syndrome, when I started breast feeding the little guy..believe it or not. I suppose it was from the weight of him and supporting him with my left hand for a long period of time without moving it. (You aren't breastfeeding anyone, are you? ).
Anyway, I have Adeslas. I went to my doctor who then sent me to a hand/wrist specialist (the details are really fuzzy). After checking out my hand he had me buy an orthopedic wrist support and sent me to a physical therapist. The physical therapist prescribed daily 15 minute sessions for two months and recommended that I stop using my hand (and what, stop feeding the baby? Ever try to breast feed with only one hand??). I thought she was a bit off her rocker so I never did go back for the sessions. I used my hand only when necessary and continued to wear the wrist brace for 3 months. Eventually the pain disappeared.
The physical therapist was on José Abascal and the hand/wrist orthopedic specialist was on Modesto Lafuente. If you are interested in their contact info I could probably dig it up for you.
it just so happened that after having read your post this morning, i was out to lunch near manuel becerra and i saw a huge sign on a shop on calle alcalá that said "oficina ergonómica" and the place is called "el boutique de la silla".
the place is on the corner of calle alcalá and rufino blanco.
