hi CaliforniaGirl. if the handset is SIM free (unlocked), he will be able to use it for voice ONLY here without a bberry account in spain. in order to use it for data (which, in my opinion, is the purpose of a berry), he will need a blackberry spain account and as far as i know, they are only available via the spanish ops (vodafone and movistar) and they provide them when you sign up for a contract and buy the handset here in spain. in other words, i am not sure if you can just bring your own blackberry and sign up for the blackberry account here. see www.blackberry.com/es/solutions/home_personal/index.shtml for more. i need to go to vodafone today so i will ask when i am there and come back to this thread. saludos, jer...
