Yes. Thanksgiving is fast approaching and I was remembering when I was back in Miami Florida and we would meet outside 97GTR radio station with DJs Herman and McBean for Turkey Bowling. Cool

We would set up white plastic lanes, spray them down / grease them up with PAM, set up pins at the end and then bowl them down with frozen turkeys. Wink

Good fun was had by all.

Anyway, I propose that we go regular bowling on Saturday the 27th at 7pm at Chamartin to honor both Thanksgiving and turkeys in general.

For an english guy who does not celebrate thanksgiving on thanksgiving day, but who eats a turkey normally on Christmas day could I ask the following?

What the flippin 'eck does Pam do on those lanes ? And who is Pam anyways ? Is she available for any sort of greasing?

Rocco, can we do the bowling on sat., Nov. 27th instead. i just realized that since i do the cooking on thanksgiving here, i'm gonna be chained to the oven cooking the "bird" all day on sunday.

Bowling on Saturday Nov. 27th in the evening works for me.
We can go bowling at Chamartin Metro / Renfe station at 7pm.
This would leave Sunday the 28th open for soccer or anyone's dinner plans. Wink

ok, sounds good for 7pm bowling and then whatever peeps wanna do afterwards. Rocco, sat. may be very busy there so be sure to call and see if you need to reserve a lane (or more depending on who says they are in).

no big dinner plans this year, just a small family dinner.

still recuperating from last years 35+ people at my place for thanksgiving dinner Mad

ok all, time to let us know you are in for the turkey bowl...

 event: bowling and then whatever.
 day & time: sat. nov. 27th - 7pm (19:00)
place: chamartn bowling (chamartn station, upstairs).
metro: chamartn (line 8).

please post here or e-mail Rocco at info@madridinsider.com if you are coming so he knows approx. how many lanes we will need.

people who are not willing to wear shoes that 1,000,000 others have worn before, please abstain :jeje:

Ok I'm really confused as to what day is thanksgiving and what day people are celebrating it. But I do think Saturday is a cool idea because I usually spend Sunday daytime at Chamartin at Space, the disco right next to the bowlling alley. Maybe I could just bring a sleeping bag and stay there until the morn', be first in line. :jeje:

Isn't Thanksgiving always on a Thursday??

Either day works for me but I'm wondering if I'm living in another dimension.

Ok, I see I am indeed not crazy and Turkey Day is indeed on Thursday the 25th. However I suppose here in Europe it is celebrated on other days for the comfort of working folk, and Sunday is fine with me.

I am the absolute, all-time worst bowler in the universe (just call me "gutter-ball Zelda,") but I will probably be there so as to make the rest of you feel great about your skills.

no, i have always celebrated it on thursday here in spain as well, i just had a brain lapse when i read (again Rocco's fault) this thread.

glad SOMEONE is paying attention (Geeeeezzzz ROCCO!!!) :jeje:

saludos,
jer...

jer, tell ena no worries!!! If she bowls as "bad" as she thinks she skis, she is bound to come out on top! At least she wont have those bruises on the backs of her knees!!!!

Juliette, at least you let go of the bowl!!! I have been bowling twice....the first time I couldnt lift the bowl, and the second time my fingers got stuck in the bloody thing!!!!!!!!!

madsue, that may be part of your problem... you shouldn't be bowling with a bowl! To even get the thing to roll you need a ball!

:jeje: :jeje:

Sorry, I couldn't resist! Wink Big Grin
