"Smoke me a Kipper, I'll be back for Breakfast"
Posted
Hi folks,

Wondered if anybody would be interested in playing Football Sala this weekend (indoor football normally 7-a-side)

I am organising a match for Sunday in Polideportivo Vallecas, Calle Payaso Fofo, Metro Portazgo (Line 1) Near the Rayo Vallecano stadium.

The time will be 1pm until 2pm, provisional at the moment as I need to confirm the booking tomorrow.

If you are interested let me know.

Cheers.

hey EnglishPilot, i am interested but... just 1 hour? Confused

also, how much will each player put in?

i think this is a good thread idea and you will have a lot of interest if...

1) you post well ahead of the matches to give peeps time to sign up.
2) you do not conflict with the multimadrid retiro footy games sundays 4:00 to dark.

saludos,
jer...

I agree with jer.

But I think that this is actually the perfect substitute / companion for outdoor futbol / soccer on the Sundays when it either rains or is too cold. I am sure that if we do it in conjuction with Bitchy Frog and Trish we will be able to play both in perfect harmony. Cool

Guys,

yes, sadly you have to pay, I think most of the Polideportivos charge the same rates for Football Sala. The one in Vallecas charges 29 per hour for the pitch and 7 for the lights, if we play in the afternoon we probably wouldn't need the lights as the pitch is on the 3rd floor and there are big windows.

There are currently about 10 of us who play, but it is a large pitch so there is room for more people or if there is a lot of interest we can book the pitch for 2 hours and rotate the teams or organise a tournament, but trust me Jer after 1 hour of playing 7-a-side football without a break, you will be knackered!!!

So basically the cost works out to be around 2 each if there is 14 of us, so about the price of a caa these days!

I am trying to make this a regular thing, every Sunday or Saturday depending on peoples preference at the same time each week.

The reason why it is at the weekend and not in the week as it is nigh on impossible to get a football Sala pitch in Madrid during the weeknights.

hey EnglishPilot.

i'm interested in playing but i think it would be best to play saturday as we have the multimadrid footy at the retiro on sundays and then when spring springs Big Grin volleyball will be back on sundays (no missing that!).

1-2pm works for me as well.

again, if my vote counts, i prefer sat. 1-2pm.

please keep us updated

I would like to play indoor soccer, but do I need shin guards/socks? I only have running shoes here with me.

Well we only have one person who plays with shin pads, but he's Italian and they're well known for being "soft" when it comes to football Big Grin

Don't worry we don't tackle that hard, so you should be alright without pads.

Jer,

It will most likely be Sunday this week, I'll confirm tomorrow and then we can have a vote for the following week.

Yuk, oh I'm sorry I thought it said Football SALSA.

I won't comment on the "soft italian" remark, but I will acknowledge receipt of the message, and express my discontent with it. Red Face

:jeje: :jeje: :jeje:

actually, when i bought my soccer cleets (for outdoor) and sneakers (for indoor footy and v-ball), i also picked up some shin-guards so you can chuck little old yank here in with the italian softies Roll Eyes

the shin-guards cost like 3.50 so it seemed like a good investment at the time considering good solid shins are hard to replace these days :jeje:

emmabear, i will be playing with running shoes as well. i could not afford to buy both cleets, running shoes and indoor footy shoes so the running shoes/sneakers are going to serve for indoor soccer, outdoor and indoor volleyball, etc...

ok EnglishPilot, i await your word tomorrow.

saludos,
jer...

What kind of a court is this?

If its wood, they might not let you play with running shoes if they have marking soles jer. If you are going to use them for in-door basketball or Volleyball, you might want to consider replacing the running shoes for Cross training shoes if you haven't used them too much yet. Oh, yet one more trip to Decathlon... :lo:

Say, on the way there, can you pick me up a...

hey Fab, actually, they are cross-trainers and i'm pretty sure they are the non-marking type as i think it said that on the tag.

thanks for the tips though.

cool. I just thought somewhere, maybe on another thread, you had said "running shoes" rather than sneakers, and that's why I thought about the marking soles...
