POOF! Re-appearance commences Sorry to hear about your injury, I know all about that stuff (ACL). I have arrived in Spain and totally flaked out on everybody. Enough apologies though. Any mm'er who recognizes me while in town gets a free drink (= challenge, see my profile for pic), just ask for me by my board name. I am doing my best to cram in all I can while here for two weeks. I have family in Madrid that are dominating most of my time, so I need to make a break soon.

Hey Jer, Sorry to hear about your leg, I know the feeling I tore a ligament in my foot in December and was out for about a month, it's a nightmare especially now the weather is getting better. Well it was a good hat-trick, so at least you can take comfort in that and your side won, I think the final score was something like 15-11, we just couldn't break down the four goal deficit. See you back in action in May, have a good Easter.

Bummer about your leg Jer. I just thought I'd pop on here to let people know that we are still playing as normal tomorrow. We need to show Rob that we are capable of having a game without him being the "enforcer" to make people turn up 2pm as usual in Embajadores. Hopefully a few people will be up for a few beers and the England v N Ireland game afterward (4pm). Cheers Dom

Hey Jer, Great that the board is back up and running, sounds like you had a nightmare with your ISP. New software is much better as well. News on the football, well as the old saying goes"All good things must come to an end" as has the use of our sweet free pitch in Lavapies, we went there to play as normal a couple of Wednesday's ago, to find the gates locked and to be told that the Ayuntamiento had demanded the closure due to a possibility of the pitch subsiding into the underground car park below!! Got to love Spanish Civil Engineering, it surprised me that they closed it, as judging by the state of the pavements, here, I didn't think they bothered about such things as cracks or large holes appearing! Anyway the upshot of it is, is that it's closed until further notice, so watch this space for the re-opening. In the meantime I am trying to organise a pitch for next Wednesday in Sainz de Baranda, cost will be about 1.50€ Euros per person if 10 people turn up. As for this Saturday we have a 7-a-side pitch booked in La Chopera in the Retiro next to El Bosque de Ausentes. The pitch is booked from 11a.m until 1p.m, there are a couple of spaces left for players, so if anyone wants to come who hasn't already confirmed, call or text me on 665 955 896. We should have enough for 3 teams of 7, so we can rotate teams after 2 goals. The cost per person will be just under 2€. Cheers EP.

EP. Tell us how it went. Also. Now that the weather is good. Is there any chance that you would want to play on the regular grass at the Retiro for a while? Or just until the Embajadores or some other location you like opens up again for sala?

Went well last week, thanks Rocco, although we could have done with a couple of extra players, still we had 13 show up, not bad for a Puente! Anyway some good news regarding the pitch in Embajadores, it's back operational again, so Football Sala is back on Wednesday's between 8pm - 10pm and Saturday's between 2pm - 4pm. At the moment though we are pretty full up on Saturday's, I think this Saturday we have 18 people coming, so we don't need anymore, but Wednesday's we need people if anyone wants to come along. Those that show up on Wednesday's get first priority on Saturday games! As far as football on grass goes in the Retiro or wherever, I'm definately up for it, if you know of a suitable spot Rocco, I'm sure we can get enough people for a game, you can never have too much football

Anyone up for a footy match tonight? A few of us are playing at Estadio Vallehermoso (near Metros Canal, Rios Rosas and Islas Filipinas) from 8pm until 10pm. It's an indoor pitch, with a sort of running track surface and it should cost around 4 Euros per person for 2 hours. If you are thinking of coming along give me a call on 665 955 896. Cheers EP.
