i totally agree with Chica, hence my "mixed bag" comment above.
i still say it is a matter of priorities. for example, back when i was studying at the complutense, i would hear my fellow students complain about not having money to buy books for class and such and then go on to relate how they spent 5,000 pesetas (or more) on drinks the previous weekend without batting an eye.

now that is just a lie dude!!! you know for a fact you were talking about yourself. just read your opening post, it is obvious you are talking about you (as well as others).

As far as me spending money on Sky...I need it for my work research, etc.
now THAT is a good one :jeje: i would add to madsue'e "I will take you to task" by adding that guys need to buy porno to do research on female anatomy. its true, really!!!

:jeje:
Rocco, if you enjoy sky and it is your priority, thats fine, just be honest about it.
hey, maybe you can write it off on your taxes :jeje:

You say that I need to live a little, maybe I do, but I can afford to.
exactly, i was referring to YOU since YOU were the one who posted. we are not insensitive to those who do not make enough money. if you count (as you seem to like to do), you will see more free & inexpensive activities than "expensive" ones here on the forum. you have made the mistake of just focusing on the ones that cost over 15 for some reason. this made us assume you were worried about the money thing yourself. yes, i know what happens when one "ass-u-me-s" and sorry if i jumped to conclusions but you lead us into it.
in the end, you yourself have admitted that the Chicas dinner is fair and the wings&beer gathering is as well so the only "expensive" outing would be the brunch thang. one out of the tons of things we do and the brunch will most likely happen once every 2 months or so.

I was just trying to encourage more people to come up with a wider assortment of ideas that more people could take part in.
encouragement is good but YOU should take the initiative as well. for starters, stop cancelling /postponing your hikes. the one to alcal de henares was great. it did cost about 10-12 per person however by the time we were fed and back home so please keep the price down on the next one. how's that for takin the mick

jejeje, if you dont want posts like the ones above, think before you post.
