My brother Avi and Ruthy my sister-in-law are going to be visiting Madrid for Ruthy's 50th birthday.
They're arriving on the 21st, so probably will attend too.

Not been decided yet, but I would dare say that the usual, that is, Los Angeles at 9pm sounds like a good bet that most peeps will go along with. Unless someone wants to try something new or recommend somewhere else... Anybody?
And I've edited the list above to include Nava's brother and sister-in-law.

I am teaching a class until 10, so I will be there late.

I say we just go with Los Angeles and call it a day. Let's just make it easy on everyone. My humble opinion, of course.

Lena,
My brother informed me just now that as much as they regret it they aren't coming. His wife can't take these vacation days now.
So pity, I was really expecting them

Can I come too? If I can get one of these cheap easyjet flights?

Anyone any idea how I could get back to the airport for 5.00 a.m. without resorting to a taxi?

Nava,
so sorry your relatives can't make it, but I'm gald that you'll be there. Looking forward to seeing you.
Madsue,
it'd be great to have you join us, of course! The conversation will be so much more raunchy entertaining if you're there big grin There is another way, much better and cheaper than taxi to get to the airport at any time, with Aerocity. I've used them quite a bit and have recommended them to friends and they provide a great service and the best part is that they have a set fee according to zone, so no matter if you get stuck in traffic you will pay the same price and because of that they're also not interested in taking you the long route or cheating in any other way. Their best recommendation is that they are hated by the taxi dirvers. You can call ahead and make a reservation, all info on their website: http://www.aerocity.com/
Since no one has suggested a better place I second Shawn's idea that we stay with Los Angeles, 9pm.

Lena, Stefan and Raisa
Shawn
Ena, Lync and Jer
Megan (tentative)
Nava
Rebekah and Libby
Binkx and Manuel (maybe)
Schwendy and Jamie
Candela and Alfonso (perhaps eating for three, or four, or five?)
Madsue

Any volunteers for making the reservation?

There's a night bus from Cibeles to Barajas pueblo... But I'm not sure what the walk is like from the pueblo to the airport.

It would be great if you could come!

Thanks lena for that comment(I think!!) big grin I had forgotten about aerocity, I have used them a few times when I haven't wanted to fight the rush hour. Was not sure that they would pick me up at silly o'clock though!!!

The pueblo is too far away from the airport at that time of the morning unfortunately, well for me it would be frowner

Hola Lena--
Can you add one more? I'm still a bit tentative (need to check with the canguro) but Vicki--who was at the last one--wants to come.

rebrites--
Los Ángeles is closest to the La Latina or Puerta de Toledo metro stops on line 5.

Ok, bringing this to the front and answering questions and updating the list. Mariposita, no prob about adding one more, I still haven't made reservations so it can still be done. And thanks for posting the map and address. Ok, so far we have:

Lena, Stefan and Raisa
Shawn
Ena, Lync and Jer
Megan (tentative)
Nava
Rebekah and Libby
Binkx and Manuel (maybe)
Schwendy and Jamie
Candela and Alfonso (perhaps eating for three, or four, or five?)
Angelo and Anna
Vicki

I will stop by or call sometime today and make a reservation for 18 peeps, considering there are 19 grown ups on this list but at least three are "maybes".
See you all soon, don't forget:
mm fall 07 get together
this Wednesday, Nov 21, 9pm
Los Angeles, Calle del Ángel 8

Lena
