Hi all, decided to start a new thread on the Feb 6th (and subsequent) get-togethers.
Well, we are on for this Thursday, Feb. 6th at 8pm at Caf� Comercial in the Glorieta de Bilbao (Metro "Bilbao") for the first multimadrid ex-pat hangout.
Please note that even though this has been given the name of a multimadrid get together, ANYONE WHO WANTS TO MEET UP WITH US CAN COME !!! I do not care if you found out about the meeting on another message board or website!!! Please remember, the idea is to meet new people, share ideas and experiences, make friends and feel at home here in Madrid and EVERYBODY IS INVITED!!! We here at multimadrid are not petty and do not bicker with other websites on the net, the more the merrier!!!
We should be at Caf� Comercial from 8pm till at least 10 or 11pm, join us whenever you can. If you arrive later than that and do not see us there, you can cal either me (cell #656266844) or Candela (cell #610064964) to see where we may be at that point and cathc up to us as we may move along to other places after the Caf� Comercial

I though I was clear in my opening post to this thread about ANYONE AND EVERYONE BEING WELCOME AT OUR GATHERINGS but I have had some feedback from members that has lead me to believe that they feel this is an EX-Pat only thing so I have removed the word Ex-Pat from the title of our gatherings in order to be more P.C.
Just in case there are still any doubts...

I'll be in Madrid in mid-March and I'll keep an eye on this thread - hope to catch up with you guys during this time! My boyfriend and I are newbies to Spain and we're excited about this trip. It'll be great to meet up with you guys!

Thanks for clearing that up jer. It will be easier to convince chico to go to the next BBQ (especially since TonyTorero will be doing the cooking )
Believe me, I/we will make it to one of the multimadrid midweek evening gatherings...just not anytime soon....we are in Madrid plenty and at all hours...Tony knows what I am referring to (ehem IberEnglish in the birthing process)...

I'll be in Madrid on the 18th of February, so you can definately count me in the next gathering, it'll be a good opportunity to meet some people (i don't know anybody in Madrid :-( ) and i'll be happy to grab couple of cervazas with you all. :cheers: and practice my Spanish... cuz i am starting school on the 23rd

Hey all, had agood time at the gathering last night but next time we will try a different place, that food at the Caf� Comercial S-U-C-K-E-D (except for the "chorizo al vino" ). Great place for drink but would'nt want to eat there!!!
Hey Toby_23, you are very welcome to come to the next one on Feb. 21st (in 2 weeks), keep an eye on this thread for details of where it will be. We did speak English however and last night Paloma (pim) was the only Spaniard there). Hope to have more Spaniards at future gatherings.

I can't call everyone and remind them so I just count on the peeps checking in on the board as I do for the BarBQs, Thanksgiving party, etc... I am sure you understand

Last night some poeple arrived at 10:30pm even though we started at 8:00 so feel free to show up after work
Our next gathering will probably be around 9pm as 8pm seems a bit early to start.
The best thing to do is to have my cell # on you (656 266 844) as well as that of Candela (610 064 964) to call in case you arrive very late and don't find us at the place we started at. Although last night we were only at the Caf� Comercial, sometimes we move on to other places after a certain hour.
