I understand that multimadrid crew got together at The Rover a while back once. How about a get together this year? March 17th is my favorite day, Irish don't you know. C'mon, it's not to early to started dreaming of Guinness, corned beef and cabbage. Your participation is appreciated. Lots of pints and exciting cab rides home: Young couple in cab on way home from clubbing: She:Pukes...sounds like a sneeze. He:"Bless you" He:to Taxista "Stop here" Taxistaid she vomit? He: Vomit, that'll explain the smell. Couple runs from angry Taxista, dropping trail of pesetas in their wake until the shouting stops. (True story, names changed to protect the innocent and Irish)

2 weeks to go! I am hoping to firm up the plans by next friday. There hasn't been much input from mm'ers yet, but it is still very early. Here is my contingency plan: 1)Go to Irish Pub 2)Order pint of Guinness 3)Repeat step 2 4)Repeat step 2 5-?)Repeat step 2 followed by target vomitting? Nah just kidding, it won't take that many steps for the vomitting
Looking forward to chatting with some kindred mm souls responsibly (semi)

hey toroloco, i think the lack of feedback stems from the lack of details provided by you.
basically, you need to just choose a place and time to meet up and post it. follow the "if you post it, they will come", "if you pour it, they will drink" , etc... theory and you shall see.
i for one am up for whatever you decide on.
so, just post and run with it, whoever shows shows and the rest are just suckaaaaaaas!!! :jeje:
don't procrastinate too long or people will have made other plans by the time you post.
Personally, I prefer Irish Pubs in the Sol/Alonso Martinez area. The Irish Rover is great, and it will be open the whole night long, but it is quite expensive and far from the city center, so we better start somewhere else and move to the Irish Rover when all the other pubs are closed!
I'd recommend O'Connor's in calle Almagro (Alonso Martinez metro) and La Fontana de Oro and O'Connell Street in Sol, but I'll go to any pub you suggest.
Don't forget to wear something green
I've already take the following morning off work!

Point noted...and thanks. Your insight is invaluable here.
It seems as though I have two votes for O'Connors and a follow-on of the Rover for later in the evening(morning). That seems good.

O'Connors it is...come one come all. I'll be there doing a family thing from around 8-11, after that as they say, I'm going on a bender, prolly solo (minus family) to the Rover.
If you're in, I look forward to meeting you. We speak spanish and english (American understood). Wear green. I'll be sporting my rugby shirt or Celtic shirt, I look painfully Irish with a suntan!
I am so psyched, just came back from a Scottish festival, I am definitely feelin no pain atm
From time to time you know you should be going on another bender

Ill be there, I do like a drop of the old Guinness.
Now shall I wear my England Rugby Top, probably a good idea after England's performance in the 6 Nations, I might get a few comisserative pints bought for me :jeje:
I spend most of my money on beer and women, the rest I just waste.
I went to O'Connors yesterday to check it out, and they have a couple of promos on Thursday:
You drink a Beamish pint, you got a hat. You drink two Beamish pints, you got a t-shirt. You drink one Jamison, you got a 'clapper' (aplaudidor, don't really know what is it).
