HELLOOOOOO out there!!!

I just now signed on this page and was interested in meeting new out going people in Madrid. I am arriving on the 4th of September to teach English at the TEFL Canterbury School. I am always up for great times and new adventures with new friends. Please feel free to let me know of anything and everything coming up. From nights out on the town to Concerts coming to town. I am going to be traveling as much as I can while there for a year. So please let me know of anything that sounds like fun and any experiences not to miss.

Life is great...I am looking forward in meeting all of you soon.

Thanks and best wishes,
Daniel

Daniel,

Jer is on vacation, so in his place please allow me welcome you. (Considering I was born and raised in SD, that's appropriate). I studied at the Complutense in 1987-88, and have returned to Spain three times since then (the latest was earlier this year, hated to go home  ).

The multimadrid gang often gets together for meals, volleyball games, etc. I believe that the awesome Multimadrid BBQ might be coming up soon.

The number of people that attend events and activities varies. Many are Madrid residents (from Spain and many other countries), others are tourists like Irene and me who feel lucky to be in town when activities occur. Some are students, others are business people, and still others are teachers. But, it's always a great time and a fun crowd. Big Grin

The best way to find out about these activities is to check the board frequently. Two of the most popular topics are titled "multimadrid get-togethers" and "multimadrid BBQ", but there are many different topics. Everyone is very helpful and will do their best to get you "in and involved".

Welcome Aboard!

Paul and Irene Hughes,

Thanks for the reply...I thought I smelled or something today. :jeje:

Diego is still sunny...but more and more congested as the years go by. I live in South Mission Beach next to the roller coaster.
I was born and use to live in Zaragoza when I was younger. Older now, I have been back and forth for Vacation and just to get out of the Fast Pace of life here. I love Spain alot and couldn't pass up this opportunity to go back and live my life to the fullest. Lisa(My girl) and I are both going to be teaching in Madrid for a year...Or more. We can't wait to get started.

I am happy to see and read all that is happening on the Message board. It feels like a warm and friendly group to share new adventures with. Plus all the shared info that is needed while in the city from other well informed.

We will definitely go to the next outing that happens while we are there to meet the group. We are always up for fun and excitement.

I CAN'T WAIT!!! The next full moon we will be Plaza side with a ching ching to the future ahead.

Thanks for the warm welcome,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,
I am also a fellow Diegan, but I'm from LA originally. I lived in Madrid for a year and I was very SAD    to return back to SD. Although SD is great, Madrid is WAY better. No beach, but still surpasses San Diego on a bad day! If you want to get together to chat about Madrid, places to go and see some of my pics to familiarize yoursekf with Madrid, you can email me at happykat17@yahoo.com

Maybe we can get a drink at Sunshine Co.

I am very envious of you that you are going to Madrid and I am in SD dealing with the Gaslamp's crappy nightlife.

Hi Daniel,

I, too, will be arriving in Madrid soon. However, I'll be only be there for a few days before going onto Salamanca to brush up on my Spanish.

I am interested in Canterbury and would love to know how you like it, how it's going, etc. So please keep us all informed.

Good luck!! And keep us posted. Mary

Danielito, what a coincidence! I was born in Ocean Beach. Irene and I visited Zaragoza in 2001, returning with my parents this past March: Big Grin

Hey everyone! For my parents' 50th anniversary next year, our whole family is hoping to come to Spain. My brothers have each been once, but it has been 15-25 years and they've been dying to come back. Madrid is a must, we'll probably be there in October. Until then, we'll keep you all posted! Big Grin

Paul and Irene,

Nice to hear from you. I loved Zaragoza...I am going there for a fiesta in a small town of Garapanios(? spelling) I believe the first week I arrive.

See you when you arrive in October.

Best wishes,
Daniel
