Jer,
Just so I'm not caught short whats the guess-timated price per person? I was thinking of bringing 20 euros, is that going to be enough?

Bonnie. Depending on how much you drink about 15 euros is the usual per person price at the end of these get togethers so you should be fine with the amount you are bringing.
Jer usually just divides the final bill equally between the number of people there which is very fair and the way it should be.

I will go to see everyone, but I will do my own thing for food and drink.

You know what?!
I'm supposed to be in Barcelona right now, but my plans got all bungled up...
If I don't leave in the next few hours, I just may be able to swing by your fiesta for a beer.
That's why I am checking this thread (i'm glad i did)
If I can't make it, have a terrific time.
Cheers.

Hi Tony,

I just wanted to say that it was great to read your earlier posts from last year when you decided to move to Spain. I have been contemplating the move for a while and what you had to say was inspiring and motivational. It's nice to hear my thoughts and desires echoed by someone else. I just turned 29 so I'm almost in the 30 boat with you. So thank you. I'm hoping to go to Madrid in August or September. Please keep us posted on your progress and how you're doing in Madrid.

Regards,
Yuri.

Hi Jer,

Thanks for the message.

I have a question for you. I've read recently on a few other message boards that Spanish authorities are trying to be more strict with illegal workers in Spain. Is this true? If so, have you seen or heard it affecting non-EU English teachers? I would love any opinions or thoughts you may have.

Saludos,
Yuri.

Fantasic to meet you guys, and put faces to the names. I'm just sorry I didn't have time to meet everyone (I'm an old man and had to get to sleep)

Looking forward to getting to know some of the other characters next time, maybe at the volleyball game or else at the next tapas night?

Welcome to Madrid, Modigy. I'm sure you'll love it. I was relieved that you weren't sent by the Missouri authorities to bring me in on that old arrest warrant of mine wink

Hey Jer, can I use this forum to plug the two travel boooks I've written?

yes, a GREAT get together indeedy. had a fantastic time brews

Steve, no plugging allowed, sorry, especially for a newbie like you, gotta pay your dues big grin

you CAN however add a signature to your posts in your profil ("My Space" link on the "Go" menu). your signature will then show up at the end of all your posts so the more active you are, the more exposure the signature will get. you can put a link to your website(s) in your signature too, would be surprised how many clickthroughs you get cool

yuri, this is not the right thread for that question as this one is about the get together last night. please either find another thread that already discusses that toopic here on the board or start your own new topic on the work and residency forum.

saludos,
jer...

Fun time last night.

But am I the only one with a severe food hangover today? Chopitos, calamares, chorizo, gambas, sepia, lacon, manchego, ensalada, croquetas, patatas bravas, y mas y mas... A total orgy of food.

Got to remember to fast before the next mm event...
