and a reminder... since the spot is not very easy to find, i will be at the puerta de alcala entrance (main entrance) to the retiro between 5:30 and 5:45. will be there during those 15 minutes waving the wiffle bat in case anyone wants to be taken over to the spot. i will wait until 5:45pm and then head over to the spot. call me on 656266844 if you get lost. saludos, jer...

Say, you are not going to use that bat swinging for 15 minutes deal as an excuse for getting carpal tunnel syndrome or anything like that, are you?
I hate quotations. Tell me what you know.

Ah, this made me smile - nice to see the wiffle continuing in the Retiro! I've made my high school buddies (when we used to play, back in the day) smile when I told them about importing the game. Have fun and hope you introduce some more of the sloshball variant rules... ie., drinking when you get to second base, etc. Mike

Drinking when you get to second base? Hell, we started drinking even before we stepped up to bat.
Hysterical moments throughout. I just loved the moment when Bonnie, running towards 2nd base and seeing that I was there waiting to tag her with the ball, changed course and ended up at 3rd base. That's the spirit!
Also, Juliette served a slow and high ball way over my head that, funnily enough, hit the very tip of my bat (which was behind me at the time) even though I had not moved the bat an inch.
At times we had players catching balls while holding a beer in hand and a cigarette in their mouth. Classy!
Of course, the best shot of the day goes to yours truly who on his very first swing in almost a decade, tossed the ball in the air, swung the bat, and sent the ball squarely into the back of Fabrizio who was walking away from me at the time. Thank god it was only a Wiffleball!

Thank God it was only Wiffleball indeed-especially when I was pitching. Sorry to those batters who felt my Wiffle wrath and ended up limping to first. :-) Great time. I got so caught up in drinking Jer's tinto de verano that I actually left my position at first base to socialize with the other team. "Who's on first?!" Oops. Oi vey.

erm, and by organizing you mean bringing a six pack and drinking it? sweet... I should "organize" stuff more often, in fact I know its still business hours, but I just feel like going over and organizing my fridge
