Anyone planning on hitting the verbena tomorrow (Tuesday) night?

There's a concurso de drag queens castizo at 9:00pm in Plaza de la Paja (if you want to participate you have to register half an hour earlier...). And eating, drinking, and, later on, dancing until the wee hours in the morning.

It's been a blast this year--my absolute favorite time in Madrid--where else can you see old crusty chulapos doing the butt with pretty young things (probably their granddaughters??), alongside hipsters and frikis y todos los demás. Even my five year old can stay up and party until 2:00am dancing in the streets, so no one has any excuses (well maybe little Lync, but next year I expect to see him out there for sure)!

Hello Megan
I love these fiestas and the feasting Madrileños
I was dancing yesterday till 2:30 on C/ Calatrava.
I guess I'll do it again tonight big grin,
It'll be fun to dance with Oscar...

Oops, didn't see the responses here (offtopic: sometimes I get the notifications and sometimes I don't... I wonder why...).

The drag queen chulapa contest was a bust--not enough contestants they said. I just find that hard to believe... I guess everyone really is on vacation. Animaos mm-ers--we could represent and win this thing next year! Everyone in the crowd said they just made it the whole thing up so we would come watch the old-timers do the chotis--marketing.

I think tonight is the last night...

off topic answer: you need to be sure that the "Notifications:" says "Notifications: On" when you start a topic or post on someone elses.

if it does not, you will not receive notifications of new posts on the thread.

saludos,
jer...

Thanks jer. I didn't realize I had different options for notifications.

Does your lack of on-topic response mean that we will not be seeing you or baby lync out there strutting with a mantón de manila and a carnation in your hair next year?
