I will miss his humorous, ironic, double-edged posts.
Oh wait, hes only going to Scotland, not leaving the internet connection!!
Of course Shawn will miss the Spanish classes :jeje: :jeje: !
Ill miss...hmmm...Ill miss....
Ill miss not inviting him to the "Adrian is away bash -- hooray!"
Just kidding Il Muffino...have a great trip...and Ill keep my eyes open for a pretty madrilea for you...actually, I think I might have someone!!! :l: :l: And she would even appreciate your muffins (hey! I didnt know you could bake!!)
(if that doesnt have him running back to Madrid...I dont know what will!!)
You are all so sweet! Not. OK, maybe Shawn is sweet, but not in "that way". I will endeavour to harrass, harangue, annoy, irritate and bother you all as much as possible a distancia, but it will take me a while to get the tin cans and string set up - no DSL!
Lightweight dainties from Scotland supplied on request (Jer, get your business head on for the import-export opportunities!)
Hope EVERYONE has a great August, wherever they may be. I must say the mm "love" has been much appreciated since I got here what seems like 2 and half looooooooong months ago. Look forward to swapping more nonsense in September.
Now, my muffin-carriage awaits... I must make haste to yonder airport and be borne home by SqueezyJet.
No sweating for a whole month - woohoo!!

How come I didn't get asn entire thread dedicated to me when I left. And I left "for good" (as I still plot my plan to get back).
All bitterness aside...
I miss eating muffins while running late to VB and pretty much everywhere else with Il Mufino. I was always running late before due to JST (Jewisg Standard Time) then I met Adrian and got a doublw wammie with MST (Madrid Standard Time) and if it exists SST (Scottish Standard Time) or maybe thats Muffin Standard Time.
I also miss his great impressions of Dr Evil and all the Austin Powers gang.
And I miss having a fellow "I don't eat ham" partner in crime.
There are many more, but they may not be appropriate. Just a joke.
Have a safe trip and email me.

I've come across what I think it's a very nice webpage, dedicated to you all, by a really cool espaola chick (not me, the web's creator! ), and I've decided to "share my find" (can you say that ), anyway, it's:
Hi pim! I'm glad to know you like MundoVegetariano.com . Ana Moreno, site founder and creator is a friend of our family. I'm sure she appreciates the good press.
Good shot!

sfslafreowopwerfals........can't type. heart racing. out of breath. fear like thick pea soup caught in the lungs....
That is exactly what I felt when I read this thread. I thought Muffins was gone! It was an awful quick blurry read through the posts to see that indeed, thank dios, it is not true.
I NEED MY MUFFIN MAN ADRIAN! I am only coming back to Madrid for him. Damn those sultry spanish nights, those sexy boquerones en vinagre, that sexy smell of garlic sizzling in oil down cobbled streets, the thrusting lustiness of flamenco shoes slamming wood floor, the...ohmigod, ohmigod...oh oh...the..oh...yes...yes..the Museo de Jamon!!! (And the Museo de Prado tambien!).
No no no. What I need in Madrid is Muffins. Late night conversations swirling around what does it all mean and why are we here and where is love and why is our bottle of vino so dangerously low?? I need Muffins in silly shorts bopping down my plaza, a bemused look afoot. I need Muffins, always raving about his great veggie cooking but always stopping at my place for a wee lil nibble.
I fell in love with Muffins the first night we met. I had double booked...actually triple booked my Friday night. We met first, then came a visiting American girlfriend, and finally my five Spanish diva gal pals. What could a motley crew of seven girls itching to play and one cultureshocked Scots boy possibly do? We danced of course. And danced and danced. Thru Viva Madrid, Cardamomos, Xarandonga and Boca del Lobo. Muffins hung the whole time, even outdancing me as I had to trudge home at 4. I knew then that any guy, with no contacts at all in the big city and not a word of Spanish, who could hold his own with SEVEN wild girls, was my type of guy!
Thank god you are not leaving. I thought for a second I'd have to marry you to get you to stay. Then again that would only get you a chance an American green card and who the hell wants that.
Anyway loves mm'ers divine. Please don't scare me like that again.
With love from Detroit, Candela

MADRE MIA! ESO si es una declaracin! :l: , Pero qu bonito es el amooor! :ks:
Candy, baby, I just read you're not coming back until October?! I think the '"fiestuky"'(party) you want to celebrate is a great idea and it should be quite a '"fiestorra"'(BIG party), considering all the people that are coming that same month! Do you think we should talk Paul into holding an at least semi-private mm shinding? Would we all fit inside the MMB, do you think? (BTW, the 12th. of October is a Sunday AND our very own 4th. of July, Spain's National Day, so maybe October 11th. is best?, I mean, who wants to go to work the next day suffering from all those killer cocktails aftermath?!)
Wow Jer, the upcoming v-ball games are going to be huge , and I trust that a BBQ by mid-October could be organized? I know, I know, this calls for a new thread....

Jer, sorry; I don't get your comment . (Sometimes, I too crash into the language barrier you know? (or is it the "irony barrier" in this case?) )
Hey Tony, I think you have a really cool friend! reading her webpage really makes me want desperately to take the "veggie route"....If only I didn't picture Elias' family totally 'flipando y alucinando conmigo' the moment they knew that I was about to stop eating their 'jamones ibricos, chorizos, lomos, salchichones,....) that they "make", or rather prepare, in their 'pueblo' in Extremadura with their own hands! (I'm kidding of course, what I should be is braver!).
Anyways, I just re-read the tale of your success-story that you posted a while back, and it's such an excellent piece of inspiring writing....Aahhhh....You guys are brave indeed! (as well as Chica, Shawn, Val, TubbyMurphy, Candelita, Juliette & Roland, Jer, etc....or course).
Can't wait to take Chloe to the next vb games (and to the possible Q) so she and Anissa can get together again! You know? I recently realized that in over a year she has become a 4-year-old fluent Spanish speaker but I'm afraid has lost about 90-95% of her English in the process!
Lots of :ks: to you and your 'chicas'!
(Sorry this is way off topic)
