Hey all, ena and I will be in the Miami area for 2 full days on March 31st and April 1st.

This is a surprise trip within a trip for ena as she has no idea I am taking her to Miami for a few days Big Grin

I know this may be a long shot but I think there are quite a few Floridian mm board members who live not far from there.

If anyone wants to suggest something fun to do, maybe a get together in South Beach Cool , let me know ASAP (leave for NY on the morning of March 26th).

We are flying into Ft. Lauderdale Intnl. Airport and will be staying with cousins/uncles/aunts in Miami but it has been many years since I was last down there.

Any last minute ideas on cool places to go, things to do, etc... are much appreciated as well.

Booklady, how far do you live from Miami???

Saludos,
jer...

Jer,
wish I could go down and party at So. Beach, but I can't get away from work! Frowner

But please bring your bathing suits and very cool clothes, the Miami Herald just carried this story: Posted on Sun, Mar. 23, 2003

MEL FRISHMAN
The Miami Herald

Hey Jer!
Happy that you're coming to visit this side of "town" while in the US.

You could check out the nightlife in South Beach and you MUST visit Las Olas Riverfront (in Fort Lauderdale).

During the day it's the same as South Beach: restaurants and stores, and people sunbathing, etc. But at night it's a completely different atmosphere: clubs, drinks, skin, parties, and best of all... the most beautiful people on the planet! Eeker You know...the ones that intimidate you by their good looks alone? Wink

There's also another place you can check out: Bayside in downtown Miami. Either day or night, since there's always something to do there - and it is more "family friendly" than the other 2 places stated above. During the day, they have "mini-cruises", where they take you out on a boat around Star Island (where the famous people live), and you get to see their houses - the back at least. You've got Glorida Estefan, Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin, Cristina, and many more.

There's actually a lot of things to do here in Miami ( believe me there is! I'm just one of those people that when you ask them about it, they do this: Confused )... I'm gonna go now and check out "the stuff" and I'll post my findings later! Smiler

Thank you both for the tips on Miami.

I have been to the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area at least 15 times in my life as my mom's brothers settled there and all my cousins live in the area but it has been about 10 yrs since I was last there.

Love South Beach but I hear ya on that complex thing Stacey.

People see Ocean Drive in movies and always think everyone is a model in the scenes because it is a movie. Those of us who have been, know that it is no movie but it is "de pelcula" Big Grin

Stacey, I leave tomorrow but will check this thread from my mom's in NY to see if you have added any more cool info.

No need to go nuts, we will only be down there for 3 days.

Saludos,
jer...
