I'd be happy to show you around, no meals required. It's just that I've only been here a year so I'm hardly a local nor a Spaniard, so not sure what you're looking for. However, I can promise places of character, fun, history, and good taste (if that's something you'd like!), based on all the myriad recommendations my husband and I have gotten over the last year. I would also not mind at all taking you around, granted if you read any of my other posts you will notice most of my hang outs are bars or tapas places, and I hardly know any other kind of venue. But if you want to learn about some pretty nice places of this kind I am the guy...

I'd be interested too. I'll be arriving in Madrid on 9/23. I think I'll book a hostel room for a few days while I frantically search for a more permanent place.
