Another awesome turn out for volleyball today!!! We set up on our usual spot and had no trouble from people who would not move or the park police. Also there was no World Cup soccer to conflict with us either. I will be watching the World Cup finals next week so unless Jer wants to set up next Sunday see everyone in two weeks.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... jer has another BarBQ next sunday  so will not be able to take over vball. jer is also now thinking he will probably not be back at vball until mid september since next sunday he has BarBQ, and then a bday party the following sunday. then he is off for 2 weeks r&r in strange new lands. that takes us into august which sees chill sundays at the pool  and 2 more weeks r&r in late aug./early sept. so, no vball next sunday for sure and the rest of the summer is up to Rocco to decide if he will have vball or not. saludos, jer...

ok. in case anyone still does not know, there is no volleyball this sunday as i am a at the BarBQ/pool and Rocco is watching the world cup final which begs the question, if the game is at 8pm, why did he cancel volleyball instead of playing 5 to 7:30 and then going to watch the game?  pre-game tailgate party would be the obvious answer but that is not likely. saludos, jer...

binkx If you want to meet everybody you would be better off going to one of the food and drink get togethers as you never know who is going to show up at volleyball and it is never the same people. I think the next get together is scheduled for July 11th but you will have to read the threads on this board. I will bring the volleyball net next Sunday July 16th to the Retiro at 5pm. Jer will have to confirm if he will be there or not.

NO, the next get/together is friday, july 14th Rocco. a simple read of the first post on THAT THREAD would tell you so deadline to sign up is tomorrow, monday july 10th as we need to make a reservation and have a def. number of peeps going. i agree that the tapas gatherings are better than vball for meeting everyone. eeeeemmmmm... errrrrrr... as i said in a post above, i am not back at vball until mid-sept. saludos, jer...

Okay. Here is the deal. Jer is not going and I have other options, so I will need for at least 5 people to confirm they are going and will play volleyball at 5pm on Sunday July 16th at the Retiro so that I will lug the stuff over there and set up. Shawn Redwood, Roland, Shavon, Angie and Patricia, llewilli, Fabrizio and his flatmates, etc. and anyone else should post here and let me know.

come on Shawn, it's only 5,000+ miles to the retiro from where you are yeah, i have a feeling the lack of response from Rocco about his keeping up vball this sunday means it is not gonna happen. keep an eye on this thread for future posts about starting up again. also, i ran into victor (not on this board but he plays vball with us sometimes) at the gym the other day and he said that the spot where we have been playing is fenced off and being landscaped  can anyone confirm or deny this rumor? saludos, jer...
