What kind of hours did you get with Training Express, mostly block hours? Living and working in Tres Cantos will make it easier as its not that big of a city. I don't to worry about being 10 metro stops away. It would be ironic working for Siemens as that is the reason were moving here, the Wife got a job with them.

Tim Tres Cantos is north of Madrid and has many industrial parks as well as business complexes. It is not Madrid proper. There is a Cercania train and a lot of buses that go there from Plaza Castilla, but it is its own little community so you will have to learn how to get around up there. That being said, you can let all of the agencies / academies know that you are already covering the Tes Cantos area so that if they get any classes in they can offer them to you. Also you will place an ad in the paper specifying that you cover the Tres Cantos area as well as post flyers at all of the local Tres Cantos libraries or supermarkets, etc. I have on more than one occassion have gone all the way up to Tres Cantos to teach English classes at the PTM which has Sender and Glaxo Smith Kline. If you are patient and persistant the classes for Tres Cantos will eventually come to you, but I feel that it would be foolish not to ride it out until they did. Unless you really needed the money desperately it would be a mistake to be living in Tres Cantos and come all the way into Madrid on a regular basis to teach classes considering how little most of them pay. Cover your Tres Cantos zone, get your local area transportation down to a science, go visit all of the local places where they might need teachers and continually remind the list of all of the academies that you are there in Tres Cantos if they need you.

I spoke with Training Express and they have a problem finding teachers for Tres Cantos so I'm hoping to get enough hours that I won't have to come into the city. We did the reverse journey (La Latina to Tres Cantos) for 4 months and that was enough for us. I was surprised at the numbers of people that live in Madrid and commute to TC. But then considering the cost of housing it makes sense to stay in the city and commute if you have a cheap place.

The wife will be working at Siemens in Tres Cantos so it makes sense to live there. We did the commute thingy from La Latina, while living in the city is nice the commute is a killer, 1 hour 15 mins door to door. Surprisingly alot of people do it everyday, the train is always packed.

Does this apply to other things as well? In the USA you would give someone "a" pimp slap and in the UK it would be "the" pimp slap. Not only do we learn about housing on this site, but also culture.

yo jer, homeboy, i think Rocco meant 'bitch slap' as well. In England 'a' bitch slap not 'the'. Is Rocco the guy driving around Madrid in a pink caddie with leopard skin seat covers??? Gotta go and hang.

No a 'Bitch' slap is a 'Bitch' slap and a 'Pimp' slap is a 'Pimp' slap. Two similar yet different things. A slap delivered as a backhand to the face for disciplinary reasons. Different from a "bitch slap", which uses the palm of the hand and can be recreational. The Urban Dictionary defines it as such: pimp slap: well...it really don't matter how many fingers you use. just remember that it's the back of the hand. not the palm. using the palm is the bitch slap. the back of the hand is the pimp slap. How to preform: While VERY angry, extend the right arm across your chest in a 90 degree angle. Tighten you bicepts, and Swing to the right with full SPEED, aiming for the cheek. the goal is to connect as much of the back of your hand with as much force as possible. See this link for an example... http://texastechie.com/HTML/fun/PimpSlap.htm
