Hi everyone

Wondering if anyone had any info on any English companies in Madrid or maybe companies that require English speakers. I specialise in IT support but am willing to consider anything to get me started in Madrid.

Thanks for your help all

You can check on www.infojobs.net

It has a specific section for IT jobs, where sometimes they post job offers for english speakers.

Good luck...

I hate quotations. Tell me what you know.

Hi Kev,

I work for an English company myself, and we need people every once in a while.

Do you speak Spanish? It is important for us that you are able to give support in Spanish...

Cheers,

Belen

You can try The Phone House, Vodafone and Thales for starters.

Most multinational companies these days want their workers to speak a competent level of English, which is why English teaching in companies is so huge right now.

However, because most of these working environments arent yet bilingual or high level English, you will also need a competent level of Spanish.

Hi,

You might also try www.ukinspain.com. They list job offers at the UK embassy in Spain and other advise for UK citizens seeking to live in Spain.

Good luck!

Kwan,

I also work in the IT field and am trying to move to Spain. I do not have a job there yet but quite a bit of money saved up. I was told by the Spanish consulate here in the States that I would not be able to work there unless I already had a job lined up and they hiring company had received approval from the Ministry of Labor.

Can anyone else confirm or deny this? Please let me know. Confused

Thanks,

Tony

Modigy, in short, YES, that is right.

in long, there are a ton of thread on work visas, residency, etc... here on the board. in fact, it is probably THE most discussed topic on the work and residency forum.

you should spend some time and do some... yep... you guessed it... SEARCHES Big Grin

as jer says... "there is a direct correlation between the amount of time you put into researching on this board and what you get out of it".
