Sorry. I did do a search on starting a business and traspaso, but I have trouble accessing archived threads, and the majority of the ones I find seem to be from 2003.
Victor and I have a contract on the house. Closing in July, probably heading to Madrid in August to find an apartment and wait for our stuff to arrive. I know - August, but what are you going to do?
So lately, Victor's thinking about opening a bar. We're both unenthusiastic about the whole interviewing, jobsearch thing again, and we'll have some initial capital from the sale of our house. He's got several friends who run bars/bodegas that we can look to for advice and instruction. But I was wondering about getting an update from
multi-
madriders who have already launched their businesses.
Ideally, we'd like it to be a woody, clubby place with wifi and maybe a bar sized-pool table in back, maybe some squishy, comfy chairs in front along with the bar and tables. We have experience renovating if necessary.
We know we have a lot of research ahead of us. Victor is, of course, Spanish and I have European Union status so hopefully that should simplify the legal/administrative side. Guess we'll have to do a lot of "in the field" investigating when we get there.
Anyway - really looking forward to meeting some of you at trivia, volleyball, etc.
