Director for the Penn Abroad Program in Barcelona, Spain
The Program Director coordinates all academic and administrative aspects of the University of Pennsylvania's (Penn) study abroad program in Barcelona, and provides continuity between the program abroad, the program in Hispanic Studies, relevant academic departments and undergraduate schools at Penn, and the Office of International Programs.
The Director teaches one course per semester. Candidates must: hold a Master's degree in Hispanic Studies; have native or near-native fluency in Spanish; have teaching experience in Hispanic language and culture.
Experience in the administration of programs abroad strongly preferred.

In response to increasing enrollments, Institute for the International Education of Students (IES) has created a new Assistant Director for Student Services position in Salamanca to assist the current co-Directors. The role of the Assistant Director for Student Services is to support American students in Salamanca by addressing concerns related to their health and safety, planning and executing the details of field trips, and organizing special events that give them opportunities for leadership and integration into the community. The post requires a strong interest and ability in working with students from a variety of racial, cultural, national, and lifestyle backgrounds.

The Institute for the International Education of Students (IES) Center in Madrid is seeking a replacement for Director Javier Martinez Velasco, who is becoming the IES Director of the new IES Granada program.
The IES Center in Madrid offers an academic program for eighty to one hundred students from the U.S. each semester. The Center Director will be the responsible head of the program and duties will include: supervising the academic program; providing the main point of contact with the Universidad Complutense; supervising staff; and overseeing the health and safety conditions for the students. The Director will also be expected to visit colleges and universities in the U.S.
IES seeks a Director who combines strong academic credentials in the humanities and social sciences with experience in administration. The Director should speak, read, and write Spanish and English fluently and should be familiar with the nature, organization, and customs of higher education in Spain and the U.S. The Director should have a strong commitment to academic rigor, to educating young people in an international environment, and to education for intercultural understanding.
