...hundred million webpages of oh-so-pertinent content. Plus I get to listen to 'proper' radio on the web, but that's another thread.
This one refers to helpful pages for those coming to live/work in Spain . Check them out for good links (like this one ), advice and reassurance. As far as I can see the BBC is like the universe: boundless and all-encompassing. As you colonials might say: "It rocks!"

Sorry Jer but the Beeb is my home page, how else can you keep up with the scan, why one of their sources topped himself(according to official sources), sounds like a job for Cracker, beat that DUBYA.

As an unrepentant D-XER I have to agree with the British folks. After Radio Nederland and Radio Nacional de Espaa, my third favorite is the BBC. They have some hilarious programmes!

Ah, I feel a G&T coming on.... how simply splendid! The great thing for me is that UK media is one of the things we Brits CAN be proud of, and it all fits inside my laptop - if only I could add smelly-touchy-vision... freshly mown lawns, early autumn dews, the salt spray of a brisk north-easterly buffeting the harbour wall, bee-laden heather fells... ah, the bittersweet memories!! Maybe it's just as well I get to go for a quick visit in just over a week!
Any requests? Marmite, Tetleys....

Adrian, I agree with you, British TV and Radio are the best in Europe. And they give the U.S. media a good run for the money. I tune BBC America all the time to watch Father Ted, and the funny decorator shows, they are a delight!
But, that MARMITE, man, how horrible! It has to be an acquired taste, like liking squid! Do you put Marmite on your muffins? :jeje:

Booklady, Marmite and muffins are two DELICACIES which need to be savoured separately. I admit that Marmite is something my tastebuds initially rejected, but as a veggie it is a good source of wholesome goodness, unlike squid, which is more like ghoulsome hoodness, whatever that might be. Speaking of squid (and muffins), "Squid" was the nickname I gave to my co-worker in my last job in Scotland - she was the compositor in the National Trust for Scotland printing museum (by far the most interesting thing in my 'home' town, as this link will show). She was very pale and always covered in ink, hence...
Jer, Tev and other perplexed "Pond-crossers" - the first little ditty should actually go:
narnle na nah narnle na nah nah na nah na nah etc
(but Jo can be forgiven because it was a long time ago).
The second one is something with an addictive quality of the order of crack cocaine, that hit that Radio Four listeners hurry home for. I personally am not hooked on"The Archers", but only through lack of exposure. But suddenly the TEFL opportunities the show offers via the web have struck me. Just imagine, a generation of Madrilenos who know the Archer family!
And shame on you, Jer - G&T is gin and tonic. Ah git me a Merican to idjukate!!
