Thats it! I threw in the towel. I just became a Spanish national. Yup! First i made it through the back door for a residency visa then applied for citizenship and now a full blooded Spaniard.
No more permits after all the "HARDWORK AND PATIENCE" not to mention the "pegas" as tonytorero says. Need advice? Well if you are in search of a person that needs to share a flat and intend to leave after a few months, then certainly you get all the information you need regarding residency and work permits(see 2 bedroom flat thread).
I wonder if my friend Espe3 made it. I need word coz I had a bet for calamares and a drink. Wasnt she suppose to have made it as a Spaniard without residency?

BAS

Glad to see you back on the board. Thought you had fell off the face of the earth. I wish you luck in your future endeavors and I know that all will work out for the best.

Hey Bas! Spanish consulate dragging their feet. I'll have an update (hopefully) by the end of the month. I haven't forgotten about the Calamares!
By the way, congrats! What exactly did you do? I thought it would take me longer to go to Spain to do everything, so well... at least I'm working and saving up some extra cash in the meantime! See you soon!

Hey BAS! Congrats buddy... I hope this helps you get the job that you deserve with no more hassles. Knowing what I know about you, I'm absolutely certain that will be precisely the case!
I have to admit that I've thought about doing the same once or twice, but then again I know my mother would most likely rebuild the Nio, Pinta & the Santa Mara, sail over here and cause me bodily harm.
Again, I'm happy for you buddy. Knowing a little bit about your plight, it seems like a good thing for you and I wish you nothing but good fortune. Keep in touch!

Thanks a lot for all the praises. You can do it without losing your present citizenship and if you need some info i wouldn't mind giving my advice friend. OK! Your mother wouldn't have to rebuild the Nio, Pinta & the Santa Mara, sail over here and cause you bodily harm. Maybe she might encourage ya!

Nope! Its a looooong story! I know it SHOULDN'T take a long time, but the consulate I have to go through hasn't even begun to process any of the applications. They're supposed to start at some point this month, and then it should happen rather quickly from there (crossing my fingers) Once I go to swear in, I'm getting my passport the same day (they already said it would only take a day- so I'm NOT leaving without it!)
But like I said, I'll post an update soon as far as when an actual event happens with this! Until then, trying the best I can to be patient. (NOT my forte!)
