Hey gang, "the fat one" MEGA Spanish Xmas lotto tickets have been on sale since mid August so I have decided to start this thread to get our anual multimadrid pool going.
This is the second year we are collecting to play big (and win even BIGGER!!! )
Since I have a Pay Pal account set up in Euros at www.onspanishtime.com/paypal/europay.htm, I am accepting 11 Euro participations for the x-mas "gordo" drawing in December.
It is 11 Euros intead of 10 since PayPal takes out just under 1 Euro commission for using their system, so, every 10 payment I receive would look like this...
quote:
Total Amount: EUR 10.00 Fee Amount: -EUR 0.74 Net Amount: EUR 9.26
... and I would lose money
The way I will work it is that anyone interested can pay 11 Euros into my secure server with their credit card and around December 17th (5 days before the drawing on Dec. 22nd) I will see how much money we hava amassed and spend it all on Christmas lotto tickets for us.
Tickets cost 30 Euros each so if we get 12 people participating, that would total 120 Euros and I could buy 4 tickets. 4 tickets for every 12 participants.
Well, if it is a small amount we vote whether to split it up amongst the participants or roll it over and buy tickets for the Jan. 5th "Lotera del Nio" (the OTHER big holiday lotto).
If we win BIG, we split the up amongst all who participated.
Read LAST YEARS LOTTO POOL THREAD for more info, we won 40 on the "Gordo" last year and rolled it over and bought for "El Nio". We thought we had won 14 on that one but ended up not winning any more .
All in all great fun, especially for those not in Spain who could not buy ticks on there own.
I smell a success story this year
Keep those participations rolling in.
Saludos, jer...
p.d. IF ANYONE IN MADRID PREFERS TO COME PAY THEIR 10 (no commission for PayPal ) EUROS IN PERSON (no checks pleeeeaaseee), THEY CAN COME TO MY OFFICE IN THE PUERTA DEL SOL...
CALLE DEL CORREO, 4, 24 (SECOND FLOOR, OFFICE #4)
Well, Jer, I think instead of rolling it over, I would prefer that we take any winnings we have in pennies, throw it on the floor of your office, then run barefoot through it.
I will definitely be in again this year! It was a lot of fun last year, even if in the end we came away with nothing. But the excitement was worth the money!
Jer, I just paid!!!!
