I'm doing research for a school project, and I need to know if there are any special Spanish traditions regarding birth? I already have info on the baptisms, but is there anything else? (i.e. do they have baby showers like in th US?) Thanks so much for your help!

Hye Conchita7, welcome to the group.

Ena (my gal) says there us no "baby shower" partys as in the U.S.A but the friends and family do go to see the newborn and new mom either at the hospital or at home bearing gifts. The difference is that they do not have one "shower" but rather people go seperately when the baby is born.

I can also tell you that they smack the baby on it's but as they do in the U.S.A. Big Grin Wink Red Face

Saludos,
