Talking about Semana Santa, Jer, is Semana santa as crowded in Madrid as it is in Sevilla and Andalucia in general?

Hey Booklady, traditionally Semana Santa in Sevilla is "the place to be" but the mere fact that Madrid has over 5,000,000 pop. cuases huge crowds. Not as crowded as Sevilla but Madrid has a nice Semana Santa and is prous of it's turnout Saludos, jer...

Not such a good start to Semana Santa 2003 with the first procession cancelled due to a spot of rain. I was with the crowd in the Plaza de la Villa when a policeman came out of the Casa de la Villa to announce that the procession was cancelled "por motivos meteorolgicos" The forecast looks OK for later in the week My parents are coming to stay and we're going to 'do' Semana Santa in Madrid, but also take in some of the processions in Alcal, Guadalajara, Segovia etc
