As of yesterday, Spain is in danger of losing it's "Fiesta Nacional" ("National Passtime") for this year. All Bullfights are in danger of being suspended by the Bullfighting industry due to the lack of state financing in the light of the huge losses due to the incinerating of "Mad Cows".
The livestock farmers blame the "Crisis de las Vacas Locas" ("Mad Cows Crisis") for their financial problems and demand that they be given $14,000,000 in funding.
Although I am not a huge Bullfight fan, it is hard for me to imagine Spain without them, even for only one season.
Well, let's see: maybe we can bring back the gladiators since the bullrings are shaped just like the old Roman arenas(and how 'bout that? "Arena" means "sand", like the stuff on the ground! Jer: have you heard that ALL of the plazas use sand from Sevilla because of its unique low-dust factor? Can you corroborate that odd rumor?

Ol! The scare is over, the bulls are back and the govt. is only about 17 million dollars poorer. The strike is off and all is back to normal. The govt. has decided to help fund the "ganaderos" ("livestock farmers") so that it is easier to bring the national passtime to Spain.
What a relief...being a Christian, I was concerned about the lack of bulls causing Spain's government to fall into a "Roman Relapse" when I get off the plane next April. I don't even know how to use that net thing along with a shield!

Not only that Euskaldun but if los toros disapeared from Spain the economy would probably collapse completely. It would be almost like taking soccer away. I am not a big fan or "la corrida" but I do respect it as a staple part of Spanish culture.
Oh yeah, that net thing, what is it officially called after all?
Or maybe even throw them there gringos for a loop by changing it to "no toro". Mass confusion and chaos in the USA. Hey, by the way, where does the phrase "no bull" even come from" or is it simply "no bull****" shortened to make it easier to say ?
