Hola holita (Ned Flander's Hidely Hodely in Spanish).
Ok, confirmed price of a "dcimo" ticket for "El Gordo" at 20 Euros (up 2 Euros since last year and the new monetary unit

).
That works out well since each person's contribution will be $10 (actually a bit less than 10 Euros but I am willing to put in the difference in order to make us all rich

).
So, for every 2 participants we can buy 1 ticket. So far we have 6 signed up = 3 tickets.
I really expected more of a group effort however (considering the huge amount of traffic this board gets). Are things that bad economcally that spending $10 is something to dwell upon.
Ok, now to respond to each of you who asked wuestions since my last post above:
Shawn, glad to hear you are in but have not received your payment,
Puna, sorry you are still having trouble. Unfortunately, there is not much more I can do from this end, uuuuffff! Try deleting all the cookies in your temporary internet files directory and logging back into
www.multimadrid.com/paypal . The payment ststem should not remember you then and you should be able to pay in. DO NOT REGISTER, it is not necessary.
I guess worse case you could mail $10 cash via certified mail. Not usually a good idea to send cash but it may be your only option. Let me know and I will e-mail you my address.
David, good to have the Aussie component interested.
1) equally amongst those who have signed up AND paid. I only want $10 per participant (one unit so to speak).
2) Seems Pay Pal has removed that link in question, better off that way since it was to be ignored anyway.
Yes, anyone outside the U.S. will receive a $1.95 one time Member Fee. When I signed up with Pay Pal I also paid that fee but it was returned to me as soon as I became a member (I think that is still their policy).
Worse case scenario, you end up with a Pay Pal account which is a good way to receive money from anyone in the world with an e-mail address.
 Nige, good questions.
1) I think the prize is about 200,000 Euros per "dcimo". So, for the full ticket it would 2,000,000 Euros (will confirm). Not nearly as big as U.S. or other country lottos but it is more about tradition at x-mas. I only want $10 per participant (one unit so to speak).
2) No, those who know me (even only virtually

) trust me and those who do not trust me should not participate

"Or does jer take a 80% commission for organising it?", cute but I am actually going to lose on this deal since:
a) Pay Pal takes a 3% commission on all payments so $10 paid in to me is only $9.70 that I actually see.
b) The Euro is worth more than the $$$ right now and will surely be moreso in Dec. when I buy the tickets.
c) When I transfer funds from my Pay Pal account to my Spanish bank account, I am hit wil a poor exchange rate.
So, all in all I would say that for every $10 participation, I will only get about $9

hence eating $2 per ticket and, as usual, asking nothing in return
3) No choice of numbers, not a chance! Basically this is to conserve what is left of my sanity since too many cooks...drive jer up the f*****g wall

Last year, the numbers "91101" sold like hotcakes for obvious reasons but I shall just choose the tickets at random.
4) I am all for that charity thing. I think 10% is good enough. Hey, how about 10% for the best charity of all... multimadrid
5) No comment, you are either a believer or a non-believer, jejejejeje.
Nuff said! Let's go people!!!
Saludos,
jer...
