Hey Nige, thanks for the heads up!
Out of all fairness to the folks at that Andalucia.com website, it is very hard to keep up with those events. Often times the event organizers change the dates and one year they may be a week or even 2 before or after the one from the previous year.
Happens to me with my
MADRID CALENDAR more thna I would like to admit
So, it is always best to go directly to the official source, in this case the Jerez Dpto. de Turismo.
Also, not that Andalucia.com is not good but the official Andalucia web site is at
www.andalucia.org and the
www.andalucia.com site is a fan site (like mine). Maybe you would get more up to date info there.
Also very hard to keep a "fan site" going strong and have a "normal job" as well, these sites get sponsors but do not pay all the bills.
On to the horsey topic. Jerez will need these8 months to regain its strength since the Worl Equestrian Games just ended the third week in Sept. The website is at
www.jerez2002weg.org and it was quite an event.
I had the pleasure of supplying the U.S. and Canadian equestrian teams with about 75 of my cell phones for 3 weeks in September during the games

but when all was said and done, I had to watch the games from Madrid on TV
You see, I had to deliver a week before the games began and pick the phones up a week after they ended so it was all work no play for jer :lo: The teams were nice enough to offer me tickets to the shows and such but I had to be back in Madrid and could not hang down there for a month
Jerez is truly a great city, I have been there about 5 times and never get tired of it

Lucky enough to have a girlfriend (ena) with a brother who lives 30km from Jerez in "Medina Sidonia". I am heading down again next Friday for the weekend to pick up my new car (saved 1,000 Euros buying it down there at a dealership where ena's brother knows a guy).
You are down in Puerto de Santa Mara, did you get to see any of the equestrian competitions?
Saludos,
jer...
