Hi Jer,

So, where is a cheap (or reasonable) place to buy a tree? I live in Prosperidad. So, some place near by would be preferable. When do they start selling the trees?

Thanks, Katrina

Good question Katrina Confused

Trees should go on sale around the 1st of December.

I will have to investigate as to a good place to buy them.

Let us know here if you find a place as well.

Saludos,
jer...

Hey Katrina and all.

Back with some info on buying that real tree.

The best place to buy a real tree is at a "vivero" ("nursery") but they are usually outside of the city.
HERE is a list of some in Madrid. Click the name on the list for a page with the phone # of the vivero.

The following are in the city, I indexed them on the QDQ photos website...

 Asura Bonsai
C/. Asura, 106 --> PHOTO

 Tapiz Verde
Espaoleto, 2 --> PHOTO

 Viveros Castilla S.A
P Bajo de la Virgen del Puerto, 1 --> PHOTO

 Raga S.A
Embajadores S/N (somewhere on Calle Embajadores)

Saludos,

Hi Jer,

We ended up buying our tree (and paying premium price) at Plaza Mayor. But, since then, I've seen other places to get them (and at a lower price) and thought I would list them. The VIPS by my house in Prosperidad actually has a few trees for sale. Also, I was in Carrefour last night and they had trees -cheap- as well. Didn't notice if they had delivery, but VIPS did.

Hey! Does anyone know if the IKEAs here in Spain have the same "recycle-a-tree" program like they do in the States??.... where you buy a live, potted tree for something like $15-$25 and if at the end of the season you bring the tree back they give you a $10 refund (or something like that)...just curious...we havent decided if we will put up a tree this year since well be out of town for a week or so...but just in case! Wink
