Those stained glass windows are beautiful aren't they.

As many of you already know, I spent a semester in Leon back in 1995. Back then, it was not yet a pedestrian area around the Cathedral and the windows weren't cleaned yet. It's amazing how much had changed by 1997, which is the last time I was there. I really need to get back.

Yes, it can be fairly cold there. But coming from Wisconsin it never seemed that bad to me. Big Grin

Hey, Stephen, Im glad this thread has been useful for your decision to visit our lovely capital "del muy noble y antiguo reino de Len", and that you enjoyed the city and its monuments so much.

It's true that the weather is damn cold up there, but that's what winter brings about in those inland beautiful northern regions! (Quepasa knows it well enough, Wink )

The stained glass windows are really like a wonderful delirium, arent they?

I can see you visited the museum in San Isidoro, with the vault paintings and the treasure, which is also a must for the thorough immersion in the past glories of the kingdom.

As you may have already read in the newspapers or watched in the TV news, Len has recently been the target of the ETA terrorists' cruel activities, together with other Spanish cities (vila, Valladolid, Ciudad Real, Mlaga, Alicante and Santillana del Mar -in Cantabria). The bomb in Len was set in the gentlemen's toilet of a a cafetera (Lleras 38) which has been destroyed as as result of the explosion. Nobody died but the material damage can be seen in the picture.

Obviously these terrorists wanted to catch everybody's attention to their vindications in the day in which the Spanish people celebrate the 26th anniversary of our Constitution, more than cause personal destruction. However a little girl and her grandmother were physically injured by the explosion in Santillana del Mar, and Im sure that their psychologial trauma will last for a long time, probably forever in the case of the little girl. Is it necessary to be this cruel? These people must find pleasure in doing this kind of inhuman things.

I just wanted to condemn and express my disgust towards terrorism in general, and especially to that form of terrorism whose reason to use these violent means is so much unjustifiable.

Un saludo.

I agree with you Sensis, these acts of terror that we have seen this week & last, are quite disgusting indeed, how they can justify their actions is totally beyond comprehension. They have No honor, No respect for human life, or property, they have No sense of morality, No guilt, No shame, No conscience, and are a dispicable creed. After the appalling, sickenning attacks at La Atocha in March, this is their contribution to our society?

They (ETA Terrorists) should be hunted like the depraved animals that they are, and shot.
