Just returned from a long vacation in spain and would like to share my favorite places. Sevilla during semana santa and the feria, Ibiza at the end of may and early june, calpe and the costa blanca in june, and the north coast in august. Sevilla speaks for itself. I do not see much about Ibiza on the message boards but it is one of the most beautiful spots on earth. The north part of the island is relatively undeveloped. All the pine trees and little villages, orange blossums and rosemary growing wild everywhere. We had a motorcycle so we could go to the out of the way calas. Each day we went to a different one to swim and relax. We went to 20 or so of the 56 calas on the island. And the hotel prices were very reasonable. 44e a night for 2 people with 2 meals at es canar, 48e and breakfast at a 4 star resort at el figuires etc.. Really did not do the club scene as I do not like to drive the moto at night especially after a few drinks. And the women !!!! Calpe and the coast north to Denia is spectacular really special and to hike up the penyon at calpe is to live. I spend some time in Benidorm also and liked it much better than Lloret de Mar. I went to the north coast in august to avoid the heat and the crowds. I loved it the food the service, very dramatic cliffs beside the ocean. The seafood was better and less expensive and oh those basque women. Galicia was a surprise so green and different including the celtic music. Castro_Urdiales , Llanes , laurza, Santander. What a trip and someday I will return.
