One of my greatest memories of Spain is "The ancient city of Pedraza".
We had to wait to climb the road to enter Pedraza while an primeval lady with a staff walked a herd of cows down that road.
As I climbed the road towards the city, I felt as though I had entered the twilight zone. Everything felt untouched for centuries. The feeling chilled me to my bones (of course in a good way).
We had lunch at a place I do not remember. We had Lamb roasted on an open pit. I felt regal. The wine flowed, and so did the laughter.
I wish I had paid more attention to it all, 14 years ago.
When we go back in March, I will not forget a milli second. I promise you that! village of Pedraza

It's true. Pedraza is a incredibly beautiful village in Segovia. It's said that they have the best roasted lamb in the world.
There are two special nights at the village: the first and the second saturday of July (If I recall well). In these nights all the electrical lights are turned off and about 30000 candels are lighted to enlighten the village.
I've never been there in those nights but, I hope I can go this year.
Bye.

To Totx and Jeremy.... In reference to roasted lamb in Pedraza. I didn't get prices but a recommendation.
This is a quote from my college professor, who took us to Espana in 1988. He has gone every year for the last 17 years.
"The name of the restaurant in Pedraza is Manrique. The problem is they only serve groups--one or two people can't just walk in there and eat, I think. If that's the case go across the street to Pintor Zuloaga, the parador restaurant, and eat on the balcony overlooking the valley."

Hey Multimadridians.....This place sounds seriously cool. I've been trying to find someplace good to take my wife and daughter. This may be a good optin. Thanks.
BTW, I like that daytrip idea Jer, etc. If you or anyone else is interested in doing this thing say on a weekend, drop me a line (my email address is listed) and we can see if it would work.
