Hola,Jeremy:
Would you know anything about the flamenco show offered in Sevilla at the Casa de la Memoria in the History Museum of the Sephardic Jews?
If not, could you recommend a reasonably priced authentic, not too "touristy" venue?
Mil gracias!

hey Nat.

afraid i have not been to sevilla in a while and have never gone to see flamenco there but there are some sevilla nits on this board so let's see if they pop in.

have a look at Jeff´s new section on flamenco at http://www.exploreseville.com/flamenco.htm cool

he lists the show at casa de la memoria and he runs what is arguable the best insider site on sevilla so i would trust his content.

saludos,
jer...

when a friend of mine visited me while i was studying in seville, we were outside of a plza near la carboneria(a somewhat touristy flamenco spot, but it's free and somewhat of an institution in seville, as you'll find on jeff's site exploreseville.com) we happened upon a hug group of gypsies playing flamenco and drinking. we later found out that one of the gypsie's was having his birthday, and all of the other people there were uncles and cousins who were i guess playing with/for him. while this isn't exaclty something you'll find everyday, it was probably more memorable than an actual flamenco show in a flamenco tablao. and when the cops came bc of the noise, the birthday boy's uncle simply told the female cop she was beautiful, and she left allowing everyone to stay and have fun.
