Hi,

I have been meaning to find out a right site about travel in spain, and this seem sto be it.

I am getting married in the last week of Feb 2006 and was looking at Spain as our Honeymoon destination. I went thru the posts by the 'Honeymooner' sometime back. It has definately pointed to the right direction.

But i wanted to know if end Feb is the right time to go, will it be too cold to travel and what all places should we look at considering the weather.

I am looking at around 10 to 12 days.

Looking forward for some good leads.

hey Swamy, welcome to the board!!! congrats on your wedding and pending honeymoon brews

i married in sept. and we went for 3 weeks to italy, egypt, turky, cyprus and greece, best trip of my life! cool

YEP!!! you came to the right place alright cool

hmmmmm... feb is cold in most all of spain (with the exception of the canary islands) so it depends on what kind of "luna de miel" (honeymoon in spanish big grin) you are looking for.

if you want to really see spain, you will need to see more than the canaries so you will have to rough it weather wise and hit the mainland.

imho, it is never TOO cold to travel in spain but it will not be a summer holiday.

i have never been to india so am unsure of the climate and such but to give you an idea, it gets below freezing often here in feb, especuially in the north of the country.

saludos,
jer...

I agree with Jer, Not sure what the weather is like in India, but I sure wouldnt want to spend my honeymoon in Madrid in Feb. Not only is it usually really cold but it rains alot in the winter here. Alot of places, although I am sure the nicer hotels are not included in this, do not have heat.

I remember my first apartment in Madrid in Malasaña didnt have heat and I spent most of the winter sleeping in my jacket over my flannel pjs.

But Madrid in May. Absolutely the best place in the world. That´s my two cents anyway.

Hey Jer,

Thanx a ton for for the tips.

I was doing some reading and came across the following Itineary on the same site.

1)Madrid: 2 days.
2)Toledo: 1 day.
3)Cordoba: 1 day.
4)Granada: 2 days
5)Sevilla: 2 days.
6)Barcelona: 4 days.

Also I understand that the South of Spain doesnt hit below 17 C in and around Feb. But someone also told me that it could possibly rain in those months.

Does it make sense to plan this trip to spain at this time at all ?

Also if yes! Do you think the above itineary is good?

Ya and the weather in India is pretty warm in winters and can get rudely hot in Summers. The temperature is anywhere between 3-4 degs to around 40 +...

Thanx again for the tips and it will be great if u can pour in some.

in my opinion, it is always great to visit spain but unless it is a skiing honeymoon, the mainland is not the place to tour in feb.

sounds like most of spain except for the warm in winters part.
