Hi roundouts! Rota is just around the coast from me - we're neighbours.
I know my brother and sister in law have done some scuba diving in Sancti Petri (chiclana de la frontera) which they enjoyed.
As for what to see? Andalucia is chock-full of stuff to see!
Right now: Córdoba has a festival ending this weekend (Las Cruces de Córdoba), it's also the start of El Puerto de Santa Maria's feria!
Must Dos: You have probabaly already been to Sevilla. You could drive to Granada for a weekend, the Alhambra is a must see. Ronda is pretty neat. My family really like Gibraltar (but who doesn't like apes).
Cádiz Region: Climb to the top of the church in Medina Sidona and go for lunch in the "venta" El Sacrificio (it is a sacrifice to finish an entree!). Do a tapa tour of downtown Cádiz. Check out Grazalema in La Sierra. Work on your tan in Caños de Meca. Buy traditional sweets from the nuns who have taken a vow to not let any outsiders see them in Arcos. Do a sherry bodega tour in either Sanlucar, Jerez or El Puerto.
If you had time you could even cross over into Africa for a few days!
Ok, this is what happens when you get me started on Cádiz. I can keep going, and going, and going...
