Could someone please tell me how you say:

1) Girl, I never thought that loving you would hurt

2) Ill be the one that misses you, Ill be the one to ease your pain

3) Going out of my mind, keep thinking about you. Keeping wondering when, I'll see you again.

4) I'm so lost without you. Baby

I'm just learning spanish and want to write a letter to my girlfriend who's spanish.

Many thanks for your help Wink

Hey danny, seems nobody is able (or willing to help ya out so far Frowner

There are many ways to say these phrases in Spanish but here are a few.

1) Girl, I never thought that loving you would hurt...

"Chica, nunca pens que amarte podra doler tanto".

2) Ill be the one that misses you, Ill be the one to ease your pain...

"Ser yo quien te eche de menos, ser yo quien te alivie el dolor".

3) Going out of my mind, keep thinking about you. Keeping wondering when, I'll see you again...

"Me vuelvo loco, pensando eternamente en ti. Pregntandome cundo te volver a ver?".

4) I'm so lost without you. Baby...

"Estoy tan perdido sin ti, mi amor".

On that note, gonna go see what ena is doing right now :l: :l: :l:

Saludos,
jer...

p.d. let us know how it goes and keep us updated on this budding love story Big Grin

Jer,

I was thinking of how to say these phrases in Spanish, but then I thought, GOD, I would never tell anyone these things at all. I'm not the romantic type.

I am a total romantic, but those lines are cheesy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jer, what would the equivalent to "cheesy" be? And I don't mean, wow this sandwitch is cheesy, I mean, wow those lines are REALLY cheesy.

Good luck to you on wooing the GF.

Well, other translations are still welcome, hint, hint...

As I said, just about each person asked would probably have a slight variation.

Sedusa, that "cheesy" questiion has been lurking for a while on this board and while we have not yet found a direct translation (probably impossible), I think the following are decent ones to get the meaning across...

 "cutre" (top choice)
 "hortera" (not so close second)

In my humble oopinion, one of the best things about languages is that these types of words or phrases can not be perfectly translated.

Saludos,
jer...

p.d. How about "cheeeeeezoid" :jeje:

About this second translation
2) Ill be the one that misses you, Ill be the one to ease your pain...
I don't know if there's a tipping error or Jer doesn't dominate 'subjuntivo yet but it'ld be

"Ser yo quien te eche de menos, ser yo quien te alivie el dolor".

About the cheesy meaning, I would say about these sentences that they are too 'empalagosas' or 'pastel', like the films You've got an email, The sound of music, Princess Sissi,... I'm not sure because I only knew the 'hortera' meaning for cheesy.

Sedusa,

I was waiting for someone else to say that the lines were cheesy. By me not being romantic is my way of saying that I don't express how I would feel for a person using lines that way. I am direct and to the point.

Sedusa,
Cheesy in this case you'd say 'cursi'

Hortera really means tacky than it does cheesy

CUTRE is my favorite word in Spainsh! Thanks Jer, for using it!

Redwood, yeah, I don't speak like that either. Not that there is anything wrong with it; but if my boyfriend would say that to me, I'd have to think twice about him.
