In US English "phoney" means false or fake. Truncheon is a sort of blunt weapon that you don't really want to be beaten with.

A truncheon is what the British police force carry to hit naughty people over the head with. Just a solid wooden stick..........though some men use the word to refer to their willies :jeje: Phoney is something that is not real, could be a person or thing. For example, the Gucci bags or Cartier watches you can buy in the street markets are all phoney. A phoney person is sometimes more difficult to spot...maybe you could say someone who says he has a twelve inch truncheon could be classed as a phoney!!! Ill leave that one up to others with a better way with words than me!!!!!!!
