I seem to remember some augmentative prefixes, but don't remember if they are New World regionalisms: i.e. bien, rebien, requetebien(the ultimate in "bien") I have never heard this used with any other adverb,or any other part of speech. Maybe it was sort of a fad, like the adding of
"-orama" to a lot of things.

Hi All! Yes Sue, indeed your statement is once again "requetecorrecto". Those prefixes are not heard much here in Spain (as far as I can tell) but I think are used more in latin America. Here in Spain, the prefix "super" is more common, a loan from English. It is "in" to say "super bien" or "super guapa". Also, these prefixes re, requete, super can be used with any part of speech (I think?).

Hi!

Here you are my "authoritative" reply (it is "authoritative" as far as I am from Spain). "Re-" is can be used with any word, with the sense of "doing again" (mainly, it has other senses, being even a negative prefix) or augmenting the sense of the word. "Requete-", or, sometimes "rete-" (I've never heard this) is just for adjectives and adverbs, augmenting their sense. "Super-", quite common nowadays among young people, especially in Madrid, is completely wrong. If you're a teenager and say "rebien" instead of "superbien", your friends will think you're outfashioned. I hope this helps. Sorrry for my bad English.
