Having a Spanish girlfriend who speaks fluent english is the worst thing possible. It is ideal for relying on her to talk for you, and is a major disadvantage in my opinion. I also know other people who had major problems because their partner spoke fluent English. Best of luck though, it can be hard at times and can drive you nuts at other times, but you will get there in the end. I am 1 year into learning and i can cover most of the basics.

i agree 100% with deano. however, my gal is spanish and she speaks english pretty well but we always speak in spanish since it is more comfortable for both of us, after all, we are in spain. dj.shackout, dump her and hook up with a spanish lady who does not speak a lick of english  saludos, jer...
