Im going to start with some one-one classes. This place looks like fun? Does anyone know of them. http://www.clubivy.com/spanish_club/index.php Also I have been looking at Eureka. Anyone got any advice. ClubIvy seem to be the slightly cheaper option. |

hi benji. i have had many clients tell me that eureka was great. i think club ivy's spanish school is newish so have not had any feedback on them yet. one important diff. to consider is that eureka only teaches (specializes in) spanish while club ivy teaches just about everything (languages, test prep, etc...). i tend to like the specialized spanish schools over the ones that do it all and may spread themselves too thin. just my 2 cents. saludos, jer...

I tend to agree with Jer, I think the ones that just concentrate on the teaching & learning of Castellano/Español/Spanish are the better choice, regardless of price, because for a long time I was trying to study the language "holistically" meaning, along-side a whole heap of other stuff, that was all very nice to know & learn about, but which did not help me learn how to conjugate verbs one little bit, or form logical sentences that really make sense. They are fascinating classes, full of useful info & tips etc, but lack the firm grounding in the basics, which is what I am still lacking in now, and need to get back to, in order to speak fluently/properly. So the main advice has to be, stick with the Spanish language only classes, and pick-up all the other stuff bit by bit as you go along. Hope that helps. Saludos.

I can recommend the place where i work teaching english. Tandem has received the CEELE Quality Certificate in the Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language from the University of Alcal� 4 times in a row. It essentially means that Tandem is the best school for studying Spanish in all of Spain. It's a little expensive compared to others, but the classes are really great. There are intensive classes almost every day of the year and you can get one-to-one's as well. Good luck!

Curious to know if people are still recomending these places. International House looks good to me for the cost and the timetable. I'm old, I can't be in class for more than two hours a day without my brain turning to mush and not getting the most out of it. I'm looking at this - http://www.ihmadrid.com/1/58/semi-intensive-&-extensivefor semi intensive. Going to go up and observe them for a day before I commit but was wondering if people had additional feedback. I'm looking for reasonable price, a few hours per day, and focusing on speaking Spanish. (I just want to understand and speak not learn to write it. I swear, I'll never learn all the accents) Any feedback appreciated.
