i got a kick out of that "going steady", has been ages since i heard that (think it was last time i watched "happy days" :jeje: ) my god, i am getting old
there are many ways to express what you want, below are a few...

for me, the best is simply "salgo con juan". "salir con" is to go out with, in both the friendship and romantic sense but the context.
